The Meaning of Place

I was tasked with creating a piece of handmade artwork that represents my meaning of place. The people I met in Hong Kong transformed an overwhelming city into one of belonging. It made the heartbreak of being far from my friends and family bearable and even beautiful. Through them, Hong Kong taught me how to be resilient, independent, and courageous. I learned to say yes to unfamiliar and spectacular opportunities, to take risks even when I felt afraid, and to trust my instincts when I felt uncertain. This city showed me that I am capable of far more than I ever believed. I learned that courage and belonging are often found far beyond the boundaries of comfort.
